Benefits of Smoking Cannabis

Like all drugs, cannabis affects people in different ways. The strain, THC vs CBD content, the person, how it’s ingested etc. are all variables that you have to take into account. Most people like to smoke weed simply because it feels good, for others it’s to help treat various ailments. But for some people who have never even considered smoking weed, they have to wonder just what exactly is the appeal. For some it’s just a way to relax at the end of the day, for others it helps reduce their anxiety, depression or chronic pain. In this post, I will cover at least a few of the reasons why cannabis has been gaining popularity so rapidly and just why everyone seems to love the sticky-icky.

When talking about cannabis and anxiety treatment it can get complicated pretty quickly. For some people cannabis completely obliterates their anxiety and helps them to finally relax, but for others, it tends to heighten their anxiety and make it worse. This is due partly to the fact that everyone is going to react to the drug in a different way. However, often the amount of THC consumed will play a major factor.

Nowadays the weed that’s being grown can be so insanely potent that it’s a lot easier to simply get way too high. Usually for people with severe anxiety getting extremely high is probably not going to be the right solution. However, if you ingest the right amount of THC combined with the right amount of CBD cannabis does have the potential to alleviate at least some of your anxiety. If you’re considering using cannabis to help self medicate your anxiety, it’s important to find strains that aren’t ridiculously potent. Experiment around, start with small dosages, and see what’s right for you.

Looking at how cannabis affects chronic pain, most people tend to focus a little more on CBD. While Thc can help with pain to an extent, if you’re really looking to reduce chronic pain it’s definitely important to get strains with high CBD content. CBD has been shown time and again to help reduce the inflammatory response in the body, and by proxy inflammation. Short-term inflammation can be a good thing, however, chronic pain is often associated with an overactive inflammatory response in the immune system.

Chronic inflammation has been linked to many diseases including Alzheimer’s, rheumatoid arthritis, cancer, the list goes on. When talking about treating diseases with cannabis the typical answer is that more research needs to be done before coming to a solid conclusion. However, the best way to get a solid answer in my opinion is just to give it a shot for yourself. Whether your smoking high CBD strains, buying CBD tincture or salve, it could just be what you’re looking for.

Cannabis has been shown to help regulate and in some cases even prevent diabetes. Many studies have shown that it has cancer-fighting properties. It can help stabilize moods for people with severe depression. It can help with seizures, ADHD, glaucoma, the list goes on. As far as I’m concerned it’s just about as close to a miracle drug as you can get. And all of that aside, some people just like to get high.
